Dragon Models: Straydog - Kerberos Panzer Cops

Take a look a some different views of the Panzer Cop figure from Dragon Models. I was so impressed with this figure that I had to open it up and shoot some individual shots of it for the Product Spotlight section. Dragon really did a great job on this figure, as you will see by viewing all the images on this page.

Some things to note about the figure if you should find yourself with one. First off the helmet is made from metal, not plastic but metal. Not sure what type of metal, could be steel because its heavy. I had read that Dragon would be including a metal helmet with this figure but I thought it to be just a rumor. The story went on to say that from this figure forward, or 2003 forward, that Dragon would supply all its future figures with metal helmets. I think its really nice and I hope the rumor turns out to be true!

You can find out more about the animated movie this figure is based on right here Jin-Roh. I think a non-animated movie is also in the works too. From what little I know about the animated movie, I think its about Japan set in an alternate future/past, just after W.W.II. I remember reading that it was loosely based on a Phillip K. Dick story. I think the Panzer Cops terrorize the criminals. I have not seen the movie yet but will definitely be looking for it now.

Other things to note about the gear and figure in general. The helmet is a tight fit for the figures head. It fits but its pretty tight. The armor is very easy to assemble on the figure. There are no instructions but what you see pictured here should be very close. If not, keep an eye out for fans of the movie to know exactly how it should look. I imagine there will also be fan customizing going on for this figure. I think I will probably give the armor a battle worn look.

Notice from some of the images that I have, that you can anchor his weapon on his backpack. The hooks there actually work. But I have not figured out yet how to anchor them correctly. I'm sure there is someone that can help us with that. The knee pads are separate from the boots and you will need to remove his boots to get his knee pads on. Same goes for his elbow/arm protection. Remove the hands and you can slide those on as well and then replace the hands. Be careful when you open the small holster for his handgun. I opened the bottom part when it should have been the top. The figure comes with 3 weapons but I have a smaller scale figure that came with 7 weapons. They are all W.W.II German weapons that you can find. Dragon has made everything already. I will probably outfit my figure with tons more weapons and maybe some graffiti for his armor.

As I experiment more with the figure I will post anything I come across to make it even better than it is now. But I probably can't do too much because Dragon really did a great job with it.
