Product Spotlight

The purpose of this Product Spotlight is to show how taking a figure(s) or outfit(s) and with very little work, you can make a totally new custom figure. If you have any great ideas and you would like to share them, feel free to send us your images and copy and we may post it here in the Product Spotlight. We would prefer it be a product that is still available, as we wouldn't want to give ideas people can't try. It does not have to be a product we sell though.

Original figures Hubert & Sniper Assassin Conversion
Our first conversion is one I have been wanting to do for months but haven't had the time. It involves a Dragon figure and a Blue Box Toys figure. Specifically the Hubert and Sniper Assassin figures. I think it's widely known that Hubert is the likeness of the actor Jean Reno and that the Sniper Assassin is the likeness of Robert DeNiro. I'm going to show you how to make two simple conversions and the outcome will give you two new custom figures that you can leave as is or find other small things to finish them up without too much effort.

Converted figures The finished products
With no more effort other than removing their clothing and gear and redressing them in each other's outfits and gear you have made new figures.

Sniper Assassin is now Robert DeNiro's character Neil McCauley from the movie 'Heat'. And Hubert is now Jean Reno's character Leon from the movie 'Leon' or better known in America as 'The Professional".

Real simple conversions - I don't think it gets any simpler than this. Both figures are pretty close to finished. With Robert DeNiro you will have to find an M16, possibly without the silencer like I have pictured, and a pistol. You might even add in a duffle or gym bag full of 1/6th scale money. But he is almost done by just changing out the clothing. As for Jean Reno aka Leon, you will have to find something to represent his trademark stocking cap and sunglasses. I happened to have a hat from the 21st Century Toys Villians Shotgun set 3 and I found the glasses from Blue Box Toys Villians figure Carlos. I plan to finish Leon up with a potted plant, possibly a white t-shirt, and a silenced pistol. I may even go through the trouble to make Mathilda.

Neil McCauley & Leon One more close-up
As you can see, these figures look all that much better when you switch out the clothing and see that they really resemble the characters they should have been. It was like BBI and Dragon were working together on these and the idea for the conversion was staring us right in the face.
Finished Leon
